A feeling hangs in my gut Makes my ascent that much harder I can hear it; Blood pumping around my body Thumping in my mask I go faster, quicker Could get the bends I start to claw upwards Dragging the water down It’s getting bright My eyes hurt I close them and finally break through Open I take out the mouthpiece Take my first breath.
