marks on a page

marks on a page

Marks on a page

that’s all this is

that’s all our existence is.

We have to find the meaning

Attach our experiences

Make them mean something

Produce something profound.

Do that,

And they’re no longer marks on a page

They’re a whole history

A sacred text

Testament to a solitary species

A species that saw the beauty around and decided to add to it

A species that saw suffering and sort to stop it

A species that saw an impossible challenge and flew to it

Why?

Because we know those marks don’t encapsulate us

We can’t be contained

We will always suprise

We will always be more.
